Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Technical problems Where are the saved games in the Steam version?

I haven't been able to find them in the game directory or anywhere in Documents and Settings

I'm using Windows xp.

help please?

Do you have Windows Explorer set to show hidden files and folders?

Try searching the users folder (or your entire drive) for *.dsg files (someone posted a link for a save past the initial cutscene, named savegame02.dsg ). You may need to go into the advanced search options to have it search in hidden and system folders, etc.


At least for the DVD version, in XP the saves are in the folder

C:\Documents and Settings\ %username% \Local Settings\Application Data\Divinity 2\Savegames

thanks a lot! i found out not long after asking here for help but I'm glad someone bothered to answer.

I wonder about the logic behind storing the savegame files in the path of a hidden folder though. It's the first time I have encountered such a thing, and I have been pc gaming for pretty long now..

One of the Larians said that path was listed in one of the documents they got from Microsoft, and they used it without stopping to reflect on the logic / consequences.
