Even if we had access to the detailed mechanics behind combat calculations when we were making the guide, I doubt many people would be that interested.

Besides, it really is quite playstyle dependent. I played somebody else's save with 2 warriors, both high strength/damage and low speed/agility/accuracy. They lost a quest item and had trouble with the 'lost items' procedure, so I replaced it for them and then played a bit to confirm the quest could be completed, burning through potions along the way to get through an area. I returned the save and suggested they improve their agility and get their survival/speed up some, but they replied that they were not having any trouble with combat, so would stick with what they were doing.
