I've entered the Eternal Maze in Maxos temple, is there a second lever that will fully unlock the door to proceed?

Yes. There is one pressure plate in a room on the wall behind a chest, and another IIRC in the room with the half buried chest that can't be opened. Check the map, you should be able to see the hidden rooms with the levers, if the other pressure plate remains elusive.

The key to that maze can be SEEN by pressing the M key for map. This allows you to see where rooms are that need to be (solved) to enter them.
This works equally as well in every area to SEE areas you might have to find a function to get in.
