Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Stuck in Cave

I am at the very beggining of the game in Broken valley and I am stuck in the cave were you fight the last banit to get the book, the one that got out of jail. I defected him and saved the game but when i go back to the frount of the cave were I entered the ladder that was there is fully gone, and I cant get out. The game says that there are two others including the one I used to get in to also get out but I can't leave anywere. I saved over my other saves so i really dont wish to start over. Any ideas of how to keep going with out begging again?

Where are you? The save should list the name of the location.

The location sounds like the Derelict Tunnels, where you can find the bandit Hallorn (don't recall needing a book, though he did have one on him).

Unfortunately it also sounds like you may have run into a bug. Quickloading a save made indoors can sometimes remove ladders or seal doors (this is system dependent). If that is the case, try emailing Larian (support@larian.com) and see if they can fix the ladders or move you outside (assuming you have cleared the tunnels and gotten the talisman of the north). If this happens and you exit the game completely you should be ok restarting the game and loading the save again, but if you continue (ie don't notice the problem right away) the missing ladders/doors get written into any subsequent saves.
