I was in Broken Valley - around level 11 when I restarted the game in Hard Mode. Normal was getting too easy. Now, I was wondering whether I should invest in Wisdom and Mindreading this time at all- both were 4/5 when I was playing in Normal.

The problem is not skill points. I had plenty. But as I read in the forums, the game gets very easy after level 30. So if I get there faster, combat would get boring faster, right? frown I do all quests and kill every monster on map. So, without Wisdom / Mindreading, I may be 32-33 at the end of the game, right? So, should I invest in them at all?

Also, on a different topic, what is the maximum level of Lockpicking? 5?

Thanks in advance.

Naaa
Don"t put points in wisdom
Only in mindread if you want it
you will end up as level 34-37 at the end of game anyway

and max level of lockpick is 5

At first I didn't bother with Wisdom or Mindread, but eventually got a several pieces of equipment with Wisdom bonuses, so I added a couple spare skill points. I only found one piece of equipment with a Mindread bonus, which wasn't very good, so never used it or put any skill points into it.
The game does start getting a little easy at high levels, except occasionally in dragon form. I haven't raised the difficulty to hard, yet, but playing again I don't know if I'd bother with Wisdom.

Ah, I see.

I'm not bothering with Wisdom and Mindreading this time then. A couple of levels- if they do give that much XP- doesn't seem worth it.

Thanks.

I dont think investing in mindread or wisdom is worth wasting the skillpoints either. You get a +2 wis necklace from Derelict and i wear that untill i get my class armor from one of the fortresses. You can put 3 enchantments on it AND upgrade them as you find better. Rangers can use the +1 wis Bow from saving the guy down in the pit also, for a little while at least...

For quest / loot rewards, I sometimes use quicksave-quickload until I get a good reward. The Wishing Well gave me a [+1 Poison Arrows, +1 Hide in Shadows (or whatever it is called), +1 Wisdom] bracelet after I kept reloading for 10-15 minutes. cheer
