Do you have a different optical drive you can try the DVD in? Apparently Securom can be picky about which drive it will accept if there are more than one, and I've seen people recommend the lowest drive letter one.

Do you have access to a different computer you can install the game on, at least to check if you can get past that point? If the same thing happens on 2 different computers, then there may be a problem with the disk itself, in which case exchanging it should help.

Did you check Securom's site?

What looks funny about the disk?

Bring the game back and exchange it. If they have a demo computer there they may be willing, or want to, check the disk themselves, but with the same thing happening on two different computers that seems to indicate the problem is most likely with the disk itself.

looks like someone burned the game to a disc an put like a fake cover on it to make it look real.
an the walmart near me doesnt have any demo computer's an there refusing to let me bring it back an exchange it saying that.if i brought it back theyd be breaking copy right laws or something an they could be fined for it

They can refuse to exchange it for a different item, but they can not legally refuse to replace a defective product. If they accepted a re-sealed product back as new, they can not sell it and basically say 'you touched it last, it's yours'.

For all the BS they can try on the phone, just show up, explain how you installed the game on two different computers and got the same disk error, and that the disk is defective.
Wallmart has the most liberal return policy around. Managers may complain about copyrights, etc, the person actually at the returns desk may not be quite so picky (in fact I've known some to be extremely un-picky). Also, while you certainly want to start off polite, on the phone they don't really care if you get angry and raise your voice; in the store it's a different situation.
