Did you reply to the email with the negative results? That may have been their default response for anything graphics related, and followups could be more detailed (I'd hope so, anyway... if not, try support@larian.com).

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?
ATI's MOM program, at least, can cause this problem.

The fact that you can play other games fine means the problem is probably not a hardware issue. I'd be willing to bet all of those games have had conflicts on other systems, though, requiring someone else to do some troubleshooting and manipulations to try to get them to work.

I have replaced the graphical options xml file as suggested in the first email. The second email had a link to a program to update all drivers. After running this program and rebooting the computer there is still no change at all to the graphical problems.

I have tried ending the CCC.exe and MOM processes and had no results from those actions either.

So far I have been corresponding with supportintl@dtp-entertainment.com and get back responses half in German from a .de address. If I merely reply to that email I get a purely German response which makes the whole process difficult. I will start CC the other email address from now on to see if anything changes.

Any suggestions on how to take a screen shot in game? I feel it would be helpful to have a picture of what the problems look like.

There is a Snipping Tool built into Vista/7 for taking screenshots. I've used a program called PNGShot, but have not looked at anything else recently (a few I've seen mentioned, and may check out someday: Greenshot, Jing, Hypersnap, Gadwin PrintScreen and MWSnap).

You could also just hit the Print Screen button, exit or alt-tab out of the game, and paste the results into an image editor / viewer. IrfanView is (primarily) an image viewer, which can crop and do simple edits. Actually, wasn't the Windows Paint program updated a fair bit in Windows 7? If Paint will not let you save as jpg, etc, and you don't want to install anything, there are online photo editors.

I have tried using prtscrn and pasting into paint but it did not seem to work. I will try it again though.

Got it to work.

I'm having this issue. Just downloaded the game through steam last night and did the install this morning. When turning on the game, the cut scenes were fine then I was getting the graphical problem listed in all these posts. First off, thank you all for your feed back. I've tried just about everything listed here other than a complete re-install ( which I am doing now ). If this does not work then I am at a complete loss of what to do. My graphics card should be able to handle this game just fine. I do not seem to lag at all, just the graphics with the flora. I have also played other games such as WoW, ME2, DA and LOTRO with out any problems at all. If anyone else has a solution, please post!

My computer specs are:

Windows 7 Premium 64 bit
Intel core i7 @ 2.93 GHz
8152 MB Ram
1.24 TB free memory
ATI Radeon HD 5700 series graphics
Catalyst version 10.10

Your graphics driver is not up to date (current version is 10.11).
