I played a dual wielding warrior (dual axes for much of Broken Valley, hammers after getting the battle tower, and a sword/axe combo for the end of the game). I can not compare to one or two handed expertise from personal experience, though. You can make an effective build whatever weapon(s) you use (unarmed is suppose to be fairly challenging), with the results as much personal preference and playstyle as DPS and details of the individual expertise.
