I read in the gamebanshee forums that the lockpicking skilll was broken.
I just started the gog version and wondered if that is still the case.
At level three I had my dead knight put all his three skill points in lockpicking and he still wasn't able to open the first locked barrel.
In DD lockpicking was an essential and rewarding skill, but in BD : does it work? ( I can't remember from my first playthrough).
And if it works is it worth all the skill points you have to put in?

It does technically work, yes.

Unfortunately, it requires an absurd number of skill points to open anything, and the loot is no better than what you get from a random UNLOCKED chest or barrel. It's not worth putting any points into.

Put them into Pickpocketing instead. You can only steal X number of items from people (X is = to your pickpocketing skill level), but you get to choose what to take, and there is no risk or chance of getting caught.
