Why is it not possible to attack creatures on the ground when you are the dragon? They just disappear, and so you can do very little while the dragon. It would make sense to be able to at least damage creatures on the ground, instead of using so many healing potions trying to fight a huge group of enemies on foot. It takes up too much money to maintain the quota of potions you need to survive. Was it deliberate of the game creators to say that actually being the dragon in the game should be so dull?

The game was originally designed to allow the dragon form to attack ground opponents, but it required too much memory and had too much of a frame rate hit; see Lar's post in the topic Design ideas for Divinity 3 (mostly for Larian).

If you are using a lot of healing potions, try adjusting your strategy (use the creature, etc), check for equipment upgrades or try a different area first.

With your battle tower runners fully upgraded, you shouldn't have any problems getting gold or potions. Send the herb runner for ginseng (or whatever else you need for the strongest healing potion you can make) and the other two for malachite ore and diamonds to sell; as soon as they leave the tower just teleport out and then back and they will have returned (usually successfully).

As in most RPGs potions are a must. And you basically have an infinite about when you get your tower, so it shouldn't be a problem. And once you get to lv 30, you don't really need potions till the last boss.
