I have not enchanted anything yet – I am not sure how it works or what is the best enchantment. Any advice?

I saw that I can enchant or disenchant at my workshop in my tower– or does the guy there do a better job? I am level 24 right now, kinda of weak really. I think I should try to enchant some of my things but I am not sure what to do? Any thoughts on the subject?

I am always getting my butt beat pretty badly and in need of my ghost to heal me. I made my ghost level 9, fireball level 9 and magic missals level 5 (not enough money to buy that skill up yet, but I have 4 skill points waiting there for it). I didn’t put skill into anything else (oh wait, I did – level 4 or 5 fire wall…sorry at work going from memory). I have been increasing my skills at an even pace across the board.

There are enough gems (except Malachide Gems!) and Ore's to find in the game, so don't be afraid to enchant and disenchant! wink
And if you have your Battle Tower your runners can also search for Gems or Ore's for enchanting weapons and armor.

And all weapons and armor you find with enchantments on, you can disenchant them and take the Formula (not the ingredients!).
Than you can sell that item( the value don't change without enchantments!) + the Formula too IF you don't wish to use it,
Or, you can use the Formula for enchant whatever you want.
Or simply change the kind of enchantment like you wish for each item you wish to use.

How to enchant? Go to your Enchanter (Dreavan : before defeating Laiken - or by Wesson or Radclif)

You must have a Formula to enchant something and there are Formula's for weapons, armor or jewellery!

What kind of enchantment you use is personal. I find for weapons "Increased .. Damage" very good, but there're much more.

And for the skills:
Magic Missile is nice, but if I must choose in your place for the 4 points left I go for Magic Blast laugh ... Firewall is a good and strong spell wink !

With the enchantment machine in your tower, it doesn't make a difference if you talk to your enchanter or use the machine yourself.

I avoided most level 10 enchantments, since they require a malachite gem (which are fairly rare), and don't give that much of a bonus over level 9 enchantments. Healing auras on jewelry always require a malachite gem, so that is the only level 10 enchantment I used (in fact, I didn't use any lower level ones, as I was lucky enough to find a level 10 healing aura enchantment formula in the Broken Valley enchanter's cellar).

With your runners fully upgraded they will be back in the tower after you leave and return (wait until they are out before leaving). Sent one runner for diamonds, one for malachite ore (assuming you don't need specific materials for enchantments) and the other for ginseng (or whatever plant you need for the strongest health potion you can make), then sell the diamonds and malachite ore to get gold.

Level 1 of the healing spell is fairly handy. Your creature should help, as well, as a distraction, and depending on the location and distribution of opponents, it can sometimes make an excellent shield. I found a ranger head much better than warrior, and a mage head best.

Have you cleared out the path to High Hall and the harbour? If you are having a lot of trouble, there may be easier areas you could do first.

I have some trouble with enchantments, I don't know if its me doing something wrong or this is some bug. I have found enchanter and disenchanted two items. However when I want to enchant I get a list to choose which enchant to place. However despite that for some of them I have all the required items all of them are grey colored and I am not allowed to choose anything. Actualy I don't know what the last number on the right means, in the walkthrough guide its called "Cena". My game version is German 1.0.13.19. Any ideas? I started to download the latest patch, it will take some time to finish and then to see if it changes anything about that.

At least in the English version, when you start to enchant something, the window opens with the weapon list, and you have to switch to the armour or jewelry lists if you want to enchant one of them (using the shoulder buttons in the Xbox version; don't know about PC, probably the same as switching inventory categories).
In the equipment list, it should show the fraction of used to total enchantment slots on the right; if they are all greyed out, then there would either be nothing, for no enchantment slots, or (1/1), (2/2) or, very rarely, (3/3).

Once you select a piece of equipment with an open enchantment slot, going through the list of available enchantments, any missing ingredients should be shown on the left in red (the text is green if you have enough), and a statement shown in red if the equipment already has the selected type of enchantment (you can not add more than one of the same type).

I found out that I am only allowed to enchant the items with originaly free enchant slot. The objects that I have found already enchanted cannot be enchanted again after disenchanting. Besides thats a bit strange that I haven't found where to make charms after searching almost all broken valley.

You should be able to re-enchant equipment as much as you wish, as long as you have the required ingredients for the type of enchantment you want to use (from the list of what is available).
After un-enchanting you need to back out of that interface, and choose enchanting from the option menu. If that doesn't help, try exiting the conversation completely, and then talk to the enchanter again.

In the enchanting interface, does the un-enchanted piece of equipment not show up at all, or is it listed as 'whatever (0/1)' but still greyed out?

Maybe try asking in the German forum, in case this is a known issue in that version (though if so I would think the patch should have fixed it).

You can not make charms. Divine charms (the best available) can be dropped by certain boss type opponents. Other types can be found or purchased (ie from the jewelry merchant in Aleroth, available later in the game). At the end of Broken Valley, and after clearing some of the fjords, I had 3 blessed charms, 3 major and 4 minor.

So did I (28 total, even missing the 2 malachite veins in the well cave), but if I used level 10 enchantments every time I upgraded weapons and armour, they would not have lasted very long.
