Ok, I have gone all the way through Broken Valley and killed everything minus what is in the quarry, and Mr. Admarius. I'm at level 14 (mage), trying to get to 15 so I can go back and kill this dude. As far as I know I've done all of my side quests minus the lovers in the bandit camp, and the pig farmer (accidentally said no to that). What are my options?

Never mind, I finally got him still at level 14. Which advice would be best, to give the soul stone back to LL first, or to continue on to the island first?

You will eventually need to finish off everything in Broken Valley (you can leave the quarry tower until later), though you can wait until you are mostly done on the island (there is a warning that that point).

Your first encounter on sentinel island you can mindread to go up a level, so the higher level you are (I made it to level 18 in the fjords) the more of an experience bonus that will be. You don't need to get to a high level, but it would be better if you got to a new level before entering, to get a full level bonus.

Actually I did it at lvl 14. I think I just got lucky. Now I'm stuck in L's study trying to get past that level 18 creature. At the least I made it up to lvl 17. Any advice?

Are you using your creature and/or a summon to help?

Do you have any temporary boost potions you can use before heading into that fight? If not, visit Buad's cellar and see if you have the ingredients to make some.

Have you done everything else on the island? Did you find the cave there under Sassan's grave? Jump off either side of the peninsula to get to it (not that that would be any easier at level 17, depending on your choice of how to complete the quest there).
If you teleport back to Broken Valley, in the far south west you can take the path to the Orobas Fjords, to level there.

Since you last leveled, have you checked all the decent merchants for possible upgrades to weapon(s), armour and jewelry? You may also just be able to enchant / re-enchant your current equipment with better enchantments.

An adjustment to skills or strategy may help...

Wow. That's a lot of helpful information. Thanks. I've made it now to my choice of what to have Sassan help me with and off to battle Laiken we go.

Well I managed to get myself stuck again. This time in Orabis. I transported there and fought my way down the mountain, and am at the waters edge. I found the blind guy and got a stone out of the one island. I can't seem to get past the hoarde of goblins, nor figure out my direction within the cave above the waterfall. Made it to lvl 19 (yay!).

So the question is, what do I do?

Once you get down to the water, there is a boat there you can jump onto. If you stand at the right spot you can target opponents on the far beach with a bow/magic, but many of their attacks can get blocked by the back of the boat. I noticed that by accident, and stayed there until I had thinned out that end of the beach, and it was safe to swim over (a creature with a mage/ranger head can make a decent shield, as well).
Alternately, you could swim/fly around to the other side of the beach, and try from that direction.

In the sinister cave, there are 3 teleporters (one high on a ledge, one mid level on a ledge and one on the ground) you need to go through and explore the areas they bring you to (two of which have generators that need to be disabled) before taking out Barnabus in the centre of the cavern.

If you fly out over the water from the start of the fjords, you should see a bunker high in the mountains behind some anti-dragon shields and defenses. That is where you need to get to lower the barrier and disable the shields (there are a couple traders in there, as well, after they surrender).
You can either use a teleporter to get up there (the Camp Sentinel View teleporter, on the west side of the island in the middle of the channel, will bring you to Camp Eagle's Nest, where you can access the bunker) or it is also possible to fly above the anti-dragon shield and drop down in human form, if you find the right spot. The teleporter by the blind philosopher will be activated once you disable the barrier.

Ok, I got through the goblin hoarde, but now another problem has arisen. I'm out of healing potions, and almost out of food. I keep sending my runner for the ingrediants I need, but he seems to fail most times, and I've upgraded his armor and weapon as much as I can afford right now. Still haven't found the break through on that barrier yet. Perhaps later I'll try again. Any ideas on a potion besides what I'm already doing would be very much appreciated.

When you send the herb runner out (for ingredients for the strongest healing potion you can make), send the other two for malachite ore and diamonds, which you can sell to get enough gold for upgrades.
Have you gone through your inventory / chest and sold anything you are not going to need?

Have you put any skill points into Regenerate?
If you are playing a melee character, invest some in Life Leech, otherwise try Potion Efficiency.
Learn Mana Efficiency (level 5 drops mana cost for spells, and summoning your creature, in half) and Healing (level 1 is probably good enough).

If you have any jewelry with enchantment slots that you expect to be able to hang onto for awhile, and some spare malachite gems, you could add a couple high level healing auras. If you don't need resistance boosting enchantments, you could add Life Line enchantments to some of your armour.
If you reload at malachite veins until you get at least 1 gem (2 are not hard to get, 3 can be had with a little patience or luck, and 4 are possible but rare), and get all you can from quests and merchants, there should be plenty. I missed a couple veins and still acquired 28 throughout the game.
Malachite gems are needed for all level 10 enchantments (so I stuck with level 9 most of the time, since they have almost as much of an effect but use common ingredients), or for any healing aura (so I only used level 10 healing auras, after being lucky enough to find that enchantment formula in the cellar of the Broken Valley enchanter).

I went through the bottom and middle teleporters and completed them. The third one, I got partially through but used the dragon stone to get out of really quickly, and now I find a locked door. Is this going to be a problem if I don't finish the upper level room?

The locked door should be opened after defeating some undead in the middle room. A couple people who defeated Barnabus before going through that room found that the undead where not there, so the door could not be opened. I don't recall anyone else having a problem using the dragon stone. At least one person returned to the cave some time later and didn't have any trouble (the undead were there, and the door opened when they were finished off).

The Book of the Dead that Igor wants can be found in the third room, as well as a skill book IIRC. If you picked Jonelath as your necromancer then not getting in isn't a huge loss, though one person who had Igor and got locked out said their quest log stated that they had already given the book to Igor, and that they should talk to Sassan about it.

I have Igor. Which would be why I want into the room. Thing is, I killed everything before that door, and when 4 lvl 22 creatures hit at once, I got the heck out of there to heal. Figured if I could do one by one (as I am only lvl 20), then I would be able to get whatever was in there. There's nothing in my log saying I have it.

So I'm guessing the answer to my question is that it's a glitch. I thught maybe if I killed the lead guy there, then maybe it would open up (one would think so), but that didn't work either.

Were the 4 undead not there when you returned, or did killing them just not open the door?

If it was just a glitch, they may re-appear if you return there later.

The undead before the door aren't there anymore. I'll try after a bit more of playing the game and see what happens. Worse case would be I have a level 19 (almost 20) game saved that I could go back and re-do it. Don't really feel like another 5 hours of work in that area at the moment though.

On a different note, I'm trying to get through the primordal cave at the moment to get to that town. And again we have a big lvl difference. (lvl 20 vs lvl 23 monsters). Is there any other place to reach with creatures more my level?

There are level 20 (or so) black ring members along the beach beside the primordial cave, and the one behind where the anti-dragon shields are/were. The other beach has level 21 imps, and goes past the depleted ore mine, most of which should be fine to do now (there is a level 27 beholder near the end of the mine I managed to take out at level 22, using a bow and my creature as a shield until he was killed, then rush attacking to finish him off before he could hit me once or twice and kill me).

The primordial cave can be left until later. Once the barrier is down (3 levers in the bunker) it is the path past the depleted ore mine which leads to High Halls and the harbour. Swim or fly to the northern beach in the channel leading north east.

There is also a cave in the mountains just to the left of where the anti-dragon shields ended around the bunker, with about level 21-22 opponents IIRC.

Thanks. That helps. I made it through the slayer camp and the stuck boat. I didn't see a lever anywhere to disable that shield. I was guessing that I would find it somewhere in between the two... Did I happen to over-look it?

Raze you are the beholder of information it seems on here. How long have you been playing?
