Re: the engine, you're right, it was a complicated affair making it, but we should now be able to evolve it incrementally, and produce new content faster. In effort, if the gameplay content in FOV is 50% of div2, it cost us only about 10% of the div2 time to create the game's content, and the result imho is a lot better.


Once you announced FoV and said that it was almost entirely complete, it became pretty clear that the original Divinity 2 was only about 3/4 of what you originally planned. Fighting in the streets of Aleroth is featured in several of the "skill demonstration" mini-videos, but Alreoth itself is tiny. It's clear that most of that was cut out of ED.

That's why the ending was taken so badly. It'd be like if you ended Divine Divinity after the main character performs the Divine Ritual.
