How do you use the skill book and quest books?

After you pick up skill books, go into the inventory, select them and use them. IIRC they go in the same category as potions and charms. After being read, you will have an additional skill point when you go into your skill list. You can read dragon skill books as a human, but would need to transform into a dragon in order to apply the extra skill point (you can read them as a dragon, as well, but you will get one or two dragon skill books before you have the ability to transform).

For quest books you just read them as you would any other book, but to achieve the desired result you may need certain ingredients (which it would mention) or it may need to be read at a specific location.

thx, needed this info 2. However I didn't found the skillbook in my inventory, or I overlooked it. I'm gonna check this tonight.

Perhaps the skillbooks are 'stacked' in the inventory, if so then I might allready have one and this last one just added 1 to the amount.

Skillbooks do not get stacked... Maybe you picked up a stat book, rather than a skill book?

As Raze points out, skillbooks are placed in the 'consumables' tab along potions etc.

ah maybe, it was the one you can find in the black boar.

It is a skill book in the Black Boar inn, after you find the 3 books with clues to lead you to it, hidden...

I know, I already got it, just couldn't find it in my inventory

It might be a bug, but sometimes the skill books doesn't show up in the inventory. There might be other items that doesn't show up, but that is the only one I've noticed.
