Hi there,

I love RPGs but I'm not a hardcore gamer and my progress in games tends to be a bit slow compared to some. I started playing Divinity II a while ago and really enjoyed it. I played up until I could finally turn into a dragon and met the blind philosopher.
Then I bought Mass Effect 2 and played that... Then I bought Dragon Age and played that... And now we are about half a year later and I want to continue with Divinity II. The problem is, though... It's been so long since I played the game it's hard to get into it again. I seem to have forgotten a lot about how the game is played and especially, the story. I know I can read my journal but it's hard to get back on track.
So part of me is wondering whether it would be a good idea to just start over again with a new character. That way, I may have finished by the time the expansion comes along, right? But I'm not sure whether that would be as enjoyable as continuing. So I'll ask the community here: what would you do?

I would do this if I was you:
save at laest 1 savegame from your playthrough you have played a half year back (also if you go further with this).

Begin over again is a possibility if you wish to clear your mind about the Story wink

There is so much to discover in the Orobas Fjords and this game don't hold your hand, so I can understand you're confused now...
I would say you:
give your earlier playthrough at laest one big chance to survive delight .. maybe you discover again what you forget? wink

I would love to replay the whole game. You can play seriously this time with focus on the class and skill. So if you stop playing dragonis and now comeback with it, Just start all over :))

How far are you with the Main quest?

Arcane Notebook... hmmm ... it is a Questitem you need for the Quest "Candles in the Wind" ...

Do this say you something more "what to do next?"

The hall of echoes quests will have to wait until after you have the battle tower (it is the final area of the game, so there is no rush to get to the quests).

You may want to head to the fjords (from the path in the far south west of Broken valley) to level a bit before finishing off the battle tower (assuming you are done everything in Broken Valley and on Sentinel island). I think level 15 may be a little low for the fight at the end of the tower, or the one after that (though if you save before the 'point of no return' {there will be a warning}, you can always reload and go level if you run into problems).

Ok thx for all help but now im stuck again. I entered Primordial Cave talked to the dragon and all that happened is that the quest X marks the spot is completed and it says my main quest is still in there. And i met Damian but ran away cuz his Captains were too strong.

You can do this later on! I was at least level 25 or higher when I could handle Damian's Black Ring members! They are very hostile and so fast, brrrr ....

Brocken Valley is full of poisonous gaz after you kill Laiken and the gaz stays! You can't undo this!
Don't worry about the main quest scroll icon ... later on you discover how and why ... I can't say right now in clearly words ... sorry smirk

I will only say: explore explore explore , speak to many NPC's, Mindread them all and find hidden tips ... wink

There is a ten piece equipment set in each of the fortresses for Stone (Archmage set), Raze (Hunter's set - ranger) and Kali (Scorpion set - warrior). If you mindread those three bosses, as well as Xanlosch (in Stone's fortress), you can collect the four piece Ulthring's set.
Kali's fortress is in Rivertown gorge, in the far south east of the fjords.

I checked out each of the sets when I found them, but didn't make a note of the stats (some of the stats, shown in green, depend on the number of pieces of the set that are equipped). None of them tempted me to switch from the collection of random stuff I was using. A couple people that posted in the Finished Divinity II ? Tell us with which stats topic used some or all of the sets, though, and at least the archmage set has been recommended as a goal for mages to get. A couple people have mentioned they like Ulthring's set since it is only 4 pieces, and allows for more flexibility in choice for other equipment.

If you teleport to the sentinel island teleporter shrine outside (someone else mentioned a door to get outside, probably leading to the same spot, but I don't recall using it), you can jump up the nearby rocks to the area above and run over far enough there are no overhanging trees, and morph into a dragon. IIRC you can also run down the path there and either get to a spot on the edge to change, or jump off and morph before you get too far into the poison gas.

The boat in the tree is above the gas, so you can transform back into a human above it, and there are also a couple other things to find around the island, in addition to finishing off the remaining attackers, left behind when you automatically returned to the battle tower when you first took it over.
You may want to read the book yourself, though, and leave the quest unfinished...

The zeppelin parts are in various wyvern nests in the fjords; see Zeppelin parts or on the road again for details.

For the statue names, once you know they lie (from the note or mindread), just write down the clues opposite of what they say. My interpretations of the clues looked like the following

M with H. D not with C

2 not D or C. W not with M

M not alone. H not in room with statue 3

4 either C or H. C either in room with statue 4 or W

5 not with W. 5 either M or W.

From the last clue, statue 5 must be M.
From the first clue (M with H), statue 4 must be H.
From the second clue (2 not D or C), statue 2 must be W, since that is the only option left.
From the forth clue (C either in room with statue 4 or W), statue 3 must be C
this leaves statue 1 as D
