There has, in fact, been mention of the next patch (most recently in the FoV FAQ). When there is an official release date, I'm sure they'll announce it. Right now the release candidate for the add-on is being tested; if there are no problems uncovered, then there will be no additional changes that have to be made to (or which would effect) the main game, so the patch will be another step closer to release.
Do you intend to boycott the publisher, as well? They are the ones who determine the patch release procedures and schedules.
For what it's worth, Lar stated in the latest update about the add-on that when negotiating the publishing deals this time they make sure they would be able to release patches much faster, without the bureaucracy required for the main game (though they don't expect that will be necessary).
