Sounds like good wishful thinkin', and perhaps Larian will do something like that in their next game, but I have no idea if DD is configured to be easily modded. Then again, do you really want to sit around and plant trees, barrels, houses, tables, chairs, plates, food, candles, crates, chests, bookshelves, pictures, etc. etc. for every location in the game you want to create? I don't know about that...with Heroes of Might & Magic 2 & 3 I spent a lot of time (and had as much fun) building new maps and campaigns. I built like 7 worlds for HOMM 2 and I think 4 or 5 plus a campaign for HOMM 3. Built a couple worlds for Total Annihilation: Kingdoms, and one for Age of Wonders too.
Believe it or not, I like sitting around and planting trees, barrels, houses, tables, lesbian half-elves, chairs, plates, food, naked lesbian half-elves, candles, crates, bookshelves, etc. etc.
