I think I broke a quest to kill the trolls. Not sure how, not sure if it matters. Reginald, Farmer Homer's wife, and the wandering merchant, all talk about these trolls that are rampaging around. I found the trolls cave, but haven't killed them yet. I can't get a quest for this. I just get the same dialog options over and over no matter how many times I talk to people about the trolls.
Is there any way to get this quest, or does it matter if I don't get it and just go kill the troll king?

Homer gives you the quest: Guy next to(a few steps west of) Trisha's farmhouse, the one where the milkmaid is. don't kill the trolls before getting it = no quest then. Kiya

I'm not sure if it is a reputation prob. in your case: Did you kill both trolls by crossing the bridge? If not, maybe people don't think too good of your char? Some gamers had this XP, the soldiers were not friendly after that. Kiya

Homer talks to me fine, but won't give me the quest. I did kill the trolls on the bridge.

![[Linked Image]](http://kiya1.via.t-online.de/images/Div_Homertrolls.jpg) Maybe Titus triggers this? He should approach you in a cutscene near the bridge, a bit south of it, he is full of rumours, even those about trolls invading the farmlands. My convers. log says: The soldiers, they talk about trolls (one of them) - Titus - Homer. Kiya Sorry, Blake is Titus = wrong name on the pic.

Homer never gave me that part of your dialog. I can't fnd anyone named Blake. I did meet the traveling merchant Allan, just a bit north of the farmers, he talked about the trolls as well. Maybe it is this Blake who is the key to trigger it. Now to find him.

I haven't seen this Blake yet, but I loaded my other game to check and I think I figured it out. In the game where I talked to Homer first I got the kill the trolls quest. In the game where I talked to Trisha first I did not get the kill the trolls quests. In neither game did I talk to anyone named Blake, so he can't be the trigger. Both games are the same otherwise from what I can tell. I cannot seem to fix this now, so I guess I continue without the quest.

Other gamers had this prob. before, Purple = no reward XP from Homer, just killing XP. Kiya Wish I knew if it was really Trisha...

Next run through the game I am going to save and test my theory about Tricia. It can't be Blake though, I found him last night, he is a shopkeeper in Rivertown and gives the key for Nericon Garden.

No, not this Blake, Aurora, - my "Blake" was Titus a random meeting near the Aleroth bridge, a guy full of panic and catastrophy infos. He came and went running in panic. Kiya

Oh that little guy! Yes I did meet and talk to him. I remember that. I saw him in both games, so that's not the trigger either.

![[Linked Image]](http://kiya1.via.t-online.de/images/Div_Homertrolls1.jpg) Yes, that little guy, and as you see my convers. diag.: Homer comes directly underneath. I did the escort healer quest first, had a little shopping fun in Ars and then tackled the Troll quest. Kiya Your Trisha/Tricia theory; I can't agree/disagree - but why should talking to her bust this quest??? She even mentions her husband hiding from the trolls in the barn..., mysterious.

It can't be Titus, I've talked to him in both games. I have no idea, I'm guessing that if my theory is correct, it's a bug. Tricia will still talk to me about trolls, but Homer will not. I won't know for sure until I start a new game, or someone else does and tests it.

If you start a new game and find out why Homer is so stubborn, please post it on the board - you're not alone with that, thank you in advance
If anyone else has a solution for this puzzle = I would really like to know it Kiya, the Curious
