All of the dragon armour is before the wastelands. If you have not done much, you can re-load the save just before hitting the gong. If you are not having problems, though, you don't really need to worry about missing it.

VERY BIG SPOILER ON DRAGON ARMOR SET

Yes, you need to get the dragon armor before ringing the gong. On the other hand, it is not game essential by any means.

Really the dragon armor set is not bad if you are a mage, but if you did some good searching in the game, you'd find lots of good or even better items for your warrior or thief. So it wouldn't be that much of loss. Personally i had much better items, with better stats and defense, such as a helm with 450 defense.

So, if your equipment suck in general, well then you can look for items in wastelands. There is a good drop percentage there of good items, and not to forget the sword of the gods.

This is an option ...

I missed a lot of good things my first time through too. Just think, you'll be able to play again and still have new things to do.

That's exactly what I did. I finished the game as a mage but I missed a lot off fun stuff, such as the dragon armor or the easter egg area and off course a couple of quests.

Now I started over as a fighter (terminator style) and I'm trying to do all the stuff I missed out before. It's quite fun and very different from my first run through DD. It's actually nice to go mental on your enemy with a huge bastard sword instead of hiding behind your summoned legions of destruction and casting hell spikes from a 20 feet distance.

yeah !!

I reinstalled yesterday and I'm gonna replay it as a warrior as well. Too bad I can't start playing before tomorrow. I'm gonna love it again
