The only quest in Aleroth is 'come to no harm', part the quest to enter the hall of echoes. All of the platform upgrade quests are in the fjords.
You can head to Aleroth as soon as you find at least one of each of the 3 different types of zeppelin parts (in or near wyvern nests). There is a teleporter in Aleroth you can use to get back and forth; at the harbour the zeppelin also remains at your beck and call, ready to leave for Aleroth whenever you wish.
I delayed heading to Aleroth to avoid advancing the main plot, but that was unnecessary. There are a couple merchants there that sell legendary quality equipment, one of which can sometimes carry blessed charms.
Thanks. I was thinking about delaying the plot too, if it meant going there would block off quests I haven't done yet in Orobas Fjord. Good to know I can go back and forth.
