1. As time goes by you will get more torso pieces which are superior to a "rotten"torso.
2. You might get to a point where you don't even use your creature anymore.
3. It sounds like you haven't yet completed the broken valley necromancer's quest and built your 1st creature. You will get a torso piece to build with.
4. It's not that big of a deal. Don't worry about it.
The question is not, Can they reason? nor, Can they talk? but, Can they suffer?
