Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Vaccas Gem? SPOILER

A guy on Sentinal Island (Vacca)asked me to kill some ghosts in his cellar, there was a gem on the floor called "Vaccas Gem".

I dont know what its for, he asks me for it, but I dont seem to get anything from him in return, is there a use for it later or something?

If you leave before talking to Vacca you can sell the gem for 5k gold (if it is in your inventory when you talk to him he will demand it back, and turn hostile if you refuse). It is not involved in a quest, or anything, later.

Ah, ok, thanks Raze, maybe I'm missing something, but, I havent spent any money since I started the game, is there a use for gold in the game?

a nice weapon sometimes
malachite gems
armor sometimes
charms from the vendor in Aleroth
jewelry sometimes

You need gold to upgrade your runners once you get the battle tower (which allows them to gather more alchemy and enchantment ingredients for you, and come back successfully more often), as well as to unlearn skills (if you wish to) and increase the level cap for skills. A couple quests can be solved with bribery.
