So, following some stuff I read in other topics regarding DKS, I've got some questions I'd really like answered regarding how DKS' release will be handled. Some of them may not be things that are known or allowed to be released yet, but well, no harm in asking.

1: Regarding the Xbox 360, FoV will NOT be released stand-alone, correct? I read that due to being too big for DLC and unable to release it as a disc, FoV is only going to be available on the 360 via DKS. Is this true?

2: If the above is true (and even if it isn't), will save files for ED on the 360 be compatible with DKS? And by compatible, I mean either fully compatible (able to switch between ED and DKS at any time), or importable (convert a save to DKS format, but can't take it back to ED format).

This is a HUGE HUGE HUGE issue for me, because if they won't be compatible, and FoV will only be available via DKS, then I want to know right now so I can stop playing ED and wait for DKS, so I don't have to replay the entire game again just to be able to use my ED character in FoV.

3: Will there be any improvements to ED that would be missed by importing a save partway through ED? I know they said dragon segments and flying fortresses were heavily revised, but will there (possibly) be other content, earlier in the game, that could be missed by importing a save at the halfway point? Probably not a question that can be answered at the moment, but figured I'd ask anyways.

Mainly, I just want to know if, to play FoV on the 360, I'm going to need to buy DKS, and if so, if I will need to start a new game, or if I could import my ED save into DKS. Hopefully someone in the know can answer those first two questions, and understand why they are so important to know and understand for those playing on the 360 version who also want to import their character into FoV.

1. Yes, that is true.

A couple other recurring questions for Larian...

Are the achievements for DKS separate, or the same as D2:ED plus any additional ones for FoV?

On the PC, what are the differences between DKS and D2:ED + FoV?

Two other very important questions (both for the Xbox 360 version):

4: Will ED's DLC armor sets (such as Blood Echelon and Wild Dwellers) be compatible with DKS? Since these cost real money above and beyond the price of the game, this is a serious issue to know the answer to.

5: On a related note, if DKS will have its own DLC, will there be any compatibility? If ED saves can be imported into DKS, will having DLC tied to that save affect its compatibility?

I'd love it if a dev or someone else in the know could answer these questions, especially the ones about DLC and important ED saves into DKS on the Xbox 360. These are massively important questions for ED owners to know, now that DKS is confirmed as stand-alone.

DKS will have no DLC.

DKS IS the DLC.

DKS is its own game though, a compilation of ED and FoV. I don't understand how it would be DLC, and whether or not it is, that reply doesn't really answer any of my questions.

#2: From what i read (which is here on www.flamesofvengeance.com) that Dragon Knight Saga is a re-mastered game of Ego Draconis AND has Flames of Vengeance. Here's the info:

What's this about Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga ?

Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga includes the complete and re-mastered adventure Divinity II - Ego Draconis, featuring new content and an improved engine, as well as Divinity II - Flames of Vengeance. This game offers a total of over 60 hours of gameplay and more than 180 original quests that combine into a fantastic role playing experience. It will be released in Europe in October 2010 on PC & Xbox360, and more details will become available as we approach launch.

Here's something else that may answer your question:

What platforms is Divinity II - Flames of Vengeance coming out on?

Divinity II - Flames of Vengeance is coming out as an expansion pack on PC. It is available to Xbox360 players (and PC players who didn't purchase Divinity II - Ego Draconis) in Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga which features remastered content of Divinity II - Ego Draconis as well as all Divinity II - Flames Of Vengeance content.

Nope.

Even though Sven is discussing pretty much PC-talk of ED Original + FOV vs. The Dragon Knight Saga [ED Remastered + FOV], it's pretty much guaranteed it'd be a similar situation on the X360 - b/c of the huge overhaul going on b/t ED and ED Remastered, there'd be no save compatibility b/t the two versions.

A patch which would bring ED to DKS would consist of replacing almost every single file, and it's guarnateed that you wouldn't be able to play any of your previous saves.

So D2:ED + FoV (which includes patch) does not equal DKS, but it's as close as we can get it without destroying the save-games.
