It would be a good idea to zip or copy your saved games to another location first, just in case. The uninstall program should ask if you wish to keep your saves, so then after doing that and rebooting, shut down all non-essential programs, make sure there is nothing left in the DD folder besides the '
..\Divine Divinity\Run\savegames' folder, and then re-install the game.
I don't think the problem would be in the save itself. You could start a new game, possibly use
iZakaroN's SaveEditor (or from
Kiya's site, with description) to boost the stats (not sure if it works with the download version of DD), and run to the farmlands or Verdistis / Dark Forest to see if the music changes.
