It is part of the game. I'm not sure if you are suppose to be able to return to your battle tower from the Hall of Echoes, though. In the topic below (where someone didn't return to dragon automatically upon leaving the battle tower) I said you were not suppose to be able to, based on a warning in the
walkthrough. However, after trying it (Xbox version) I can return to the battle tower in the 2 dragon sections of the Hall of Echoes, but not from either human section.
