i'm a long time divinity fan
when i bought divinity 2 it didnt ran well. i thought it was my ram. and i upgraded my ram since a month or so
i reinstalled divinity 2 but still it doesnt run well. i have a fareley advanced system wich should run the game fluidly

E8500 dual core
5850 Ati
4 gig ram
xp 64

the things i did to try and fix it

- patched the game
- videocard driver up to date
- installed the wmv codecs ( even removed evry other codec i had installed)
- installed latest physx
- installed latest C++
- installed latest Direct X
- Tryed frame limiter
- tryed to turn of crossfire
- Tryed the fix by putting evrything on max. defeault your video card settings and reboot
- tryed evry possible setting ingame and on video card
- tryed to run as admin
- reinstalled on other hard disk
- updated sound drivers

i have no idea what to do now
i really want to play the game.
it seems my game runs at a very high fps
but it just seems to skip frames. and feels choppy
also the movies run at very low fps

i know about the shadowknight saga. will this version also include not only graphic but also an engine update in terms of performance?

i have now tryed evrything i could imagine to make this game run better.
i hope you guys can help me out.

- tryed evry possible setting ingame and on video card

For the video card, did that include setting the 'Frames to render ahead' to zero?

It sounds like you've pretty much tried everything in the topics Choppy game - possible fix and For people with stuttering graphics...

A couple people reported that having Opera running when they started the game fixed the stuttering, and at least one tried it and said it didn't make a difference.

2 minutes fix for stuttering AND graphics issues!!

FoV, DKS and the upcoming patch for D2:ED will include engine updates as well as graphics updates and bug fixes, etc.

hi raze thanks for the help

i think i did not try the frames to render ahead. but i have no idea where i can find it on ati catalyst.
isnt it nvidia only?

if i cant solve the problem
i might pickup the GOG version from DD again and play it till DKS comes out
i really love to support Larian. because i know they do not have the biggest budget. and they care about their community
but i cant live with bad performance on such a good system

also i use no DVD cracks. and i have the retail version 1.0

The 'render ahead' setting is also available in ATI Tray Tools, but is called 'Flip queue size' (see this post in a BFBC2 forum, for example).

hi raze. thanks again

but unfortunatly it didnt worked for me
i also tryed many other settings in ATI tray tools.

i also noticed that when i first enter the main menu my fps is capped to 30
when i go ingame its 60 constantly but it still stutters. its not unplayable but it feels like lag in an online game
the game never freezes but the game seems to skip frames.

my choppy animations are gone when i disabled the animation setting.
my cutscenes still run at 7 fps. and i have no idea why that is

i also uninstalled all my other codecs. and reinstalled the right wmv codecs again but no success

i might add that i have a 16:10 monitor at 1920x1200

i also downloaded opera just to see if that worked.

i just cant enjoy the game while knowing i am way behind the recommended specs.
when i leave the tutorial island it gets even worse.
