I'm currently "test-playing" Divinity II, to see if i want to buy it. (Which i probably will, since the story and dragon gameplay are pretty solid)
My overall feeling about this game is pretty good, though there are a LOT of bugs, glitches and errors in the game itself.
Here's a list of stuff i ran into over 5 days of playing (fully patched i might add):
-Black screen on resolution setting of 1440x900 -Crash to desktop after changing graphics settings -High graphics setting looking worse then low (also goes for extreme) -Game not restarting after changing settings and being asked if i want to restart the game. (if you ask, at least have the game restart itself, and not sit idle between all the other tasks) -Game stuck on load screen after initial conversation with Rhode -Missing textures on New Order guards patrolling Broken Valley -Missing textures on Eugene (and everyone that shares his "skin" tbh) -Performance drop outside Bandit Camp -Performance drop outside Quarry -Random load screens w/o any viable reason (some of which get stuck) -Not being able to use potions even though the timer has run out, receiving the message "you cannot use an item of this type again yet" (or something similar, at least) -Having to move away from teleporters and elevators to summon (and with move away i mean having to walk a small marathon to be able to summon)
there.. those are the issues i ran into up until the Orobas Fjords, where i am currently wreaking havoc among the wyverns and goblins/imps.
It's good to see something of quality come out of Belgium, but i'm afraid that's also this game's biggest problem.. (just being honest)
Ohh, and also, hiya.. =D

There are various suggestions in the forum for resolution, texture and loading problems. I have not heard of not being able to potions again after the required delay, and never had to move more than a couple steps the few times an object was blocking the summoning of my creature.
When I test play a game I try the demo. Lack of a demo means the developer doesn't want me to buy the game, unless I get a good recommendation from a trusted source and the price drops enough to make it an acceptable gamble.

I'm currently "test-playing" Divinity II... Ahem, that's called piracy. Not cool.
My Favorite RPGs: Divinity franchise, Gothic franchise (including Arcania, so I think I'm alone...), Venetica, Risen, Two Worlds II, The Witcher, Sacred franchise, Fallout franchise, Mass Effect 1, Alpha Protocol, Planescape: Torment, Drakensang, KOTOR 1 & 2, etc.

Yarrharr! away with ye, moralknight! first of all, the only company i "pirate" my games from before buying is EA (played too many EA games to justify paying 60 Euros for a piece of crap) This one i actually borrowed from a friend. Goes to show.. every forum has a upstanding moral troll. Away with you, troll.

My overall feeling about this game is pretty good, though there are a LOT of bugs, glitches and errors in the game itself. Have you thought about the possible cause of all these glitches? Maybe because you are "test-playing" the game? Seriously... Most of the glitches you mention we have never heard about.

Ups... sorry about that Would it be possible to send an email to support@larian.com (with a link to this thread)? Please also add your DirectX Diagnostic. I will ask one of my colleagues to have a look at some of the glitches you report and we are not aware of yet. Did you already have a look at the First Aid thread?

ok, so i've done some searching and fiddling, and the graphics issue has been resolved (for the biggest part.. also, Catalyst Control seems to hate your game.. :O )
I've had the potion thing twice since i started playing, but on higher levels it becomes less of a problem.
The summoning issue persists though, but maybe it's just me.. dunno.. it only happens in caves and hallways tbh.
I will definitely be buying this game for myself (and return the copy to my friend, as he is eager to get back to playing himself.. curse you and your dragons.. creating addicts. ;P )
Only issue that remains now is the how.. what do you advise?
Hard Copy
or
Steam client copy

Hello Trixor, sorry again for me being euh... st... If you can wait a little longer, I would advise you to purchase Divinity II - The Dragon Knight Saga (DVD). Divinity II – The Dragon Knight Saga bundles the re-mastered edition of Ego Draconis, and its (massive) expansion pack Flames of Vengeance. You will be able to experience the revised game engine with improved graphics and performance, as well as various gameplay innovations. More information can be found here. More info about release dates can be found here. Hope this helps you.

Also, thanks for the heads up about The Dragon Knight Saga. Guess i'll have to quench my thirst for uncontrollable dragon mayhem just a little while longer then, as my friend insisted on me returning the game so he himself could play again. Guess it's back to shooting infected people for me until November then. ^.^

Anyone would guess that you pirated the game from what you said or that you borrowed it and he decided that you must have done the first. I find it strange how you didn't mention you borrowed it though, most people normally mention such things when saying that they are playing it to see if they will buy it. Guess it's back to shooting infected people for me until November
Or killing dragons in Dragon Age Ultimate Edition if you never got the expansion and DLC.
