No, I don't recall seeing any option that says don't use desktop resolution.
For me the game is silky smooth, there is no stuttering that I can detect at all, but of course I've not yet been involved in any big battles which I would expect performance to drop, but it's not like the mouse is jumping around, it's smooth, it's just that it's like going through jelly instead of the air.
UPDATE: It seems that FPS_Limiter program is helping to some degree, it's not as it would be in windows, however it's probably precise enough now to play the game.
