I have three things I can't seem to figure out: (I'm at level 33}

1. I have (12) Dragon skill points but cant use them. The skills I want to apply them to are at level (5) now and I can't get them past that limit. How can I get a Dragon level skill over 5? Also, to wear a higher level Dragon armor, it says I need to bump up my strength to 46. I see no way to do this like you can if you are a human and look at the menu to apply "stat" points.

2. I want to increase two of my Training levels and for Hermosa I have completed "Dear John" and "Murder For Myrthus" and upgraded the Training Shop. But for the levels I want to see increased, they do not show, on her menu, the ability to raise them. I want to raise the levels for "Way Of The Ranger" skill presently fixed at (5), to be at 10 but can't. And having complete both quests, I wanted to raise the skill for "Summon Demon" from it's present level limit of 10, to 15. Or can't that be done after the 2nd upgrade?

3. I just can't seem to figure out how to use the "Malachite Gems". Tried right clicking on the item, no option of using the gem. Tried enhancing, no luck of it showing as an option there. How do I use it please??

A lot of questions but sure would appreciate some help if someone has the time.

Thanks.

1: Dragon skills can't go above level 5. Dragon armor pieces don't have stat requirements that I know of or have seen. Are you sure it is dragon armor (Bone, Chainmail, Crystal, or Plate)?

2: Although most skills can be increased three times (from Lv5 to 10, 13, then 15), some max out at 13 or 10, and some at Lv5 (and thus those can never be increased). Way of the Ranger (and other damage/defense boosting buffs) max out at Lv5.

3: Malachite Gems are used in enchantments, just like other gems (Diamonds, Moonstones, Aquamarines, and so forth). They are used in most Lv10 enchantments (and the ones they aren't used in are usually inferior), and in all 10 levels of the Healing Aura enchantment. Two are needed to complete the Sight for Sore Eyes quest, earning you two skill points.

There will be additional dragon skills in FoV (and presumably that section of DKS).

Summon Demon has a max level of 15, so you should be able to train it twice more. Did you talk to Sassan after completing the upgrade quest? Did you double check the trainer's skill list and your current level cap?

Thank you for your reply.

On your information to ....

1. You are correct, my mistake. It was for human not dragon, that I was looking at. Sorry.

2. On "Way of the Ranger", OK that the max is only allowed up to level 5. I was sure that I saw on some web site that it could be raised to level 15, but that's fine. It's a great spell. On the other skill level about "Summon Demon", I am at level 10/13 and maybe the answer is that I have to get to level 13 before I can increase it to level 15.

3. This one still has me stumped.
I'm in The Tower Workshop with Radcliff. I have used both shrines plus Radcliff himself and selected "enchantment". I have made sure the weapon I want to enhance has a spare slot and have selected (amongst other items) Scorpion Sword. When I select the "enhance" option, all I get is a menu that shows what weapon enhnacemnet formula I can use. It doesn't show any gems or option to use a gem. Just to be sure, I also have put other gems in my inventory and they didn't show up either. Checked it out with both enhancement shrines and Radcliff. I must still be doing something wrong. Made sure I had both the sword and gems in my inventory at the time.

Any other ideas??

Thanks a ton.

Hi Raze.

I guess you have read my reply above. Yes, I did talk with Sassan after completing the quests. But as I mentioned above, I may have to reach the present limit level of 13 for "Sommon Demn" in order to get it to the next level which would be 15. Guess time will tell.

Thanks Raze.

You should be able to raise the level cap without needing to invest any more skill points in Summon Demon; I learned it to level 15 without putting any skill points in.

On your enchantment platform, when selecting an enchantment to add to your sword, scroll down to any level 10 enchantment and check out the required ingredients - a malachite gem will be listed. If you don't have any level 10 weapon or armour enchantments yet, switch to enchanting a piece of jewelry and select any healing aura.

Level 9 of most enchantments do not require a malachite gem, but have almost as much of an effect as level 10, so I stuck to level 9. With healing auras they always require a malachite gem, so I only used level 10 (being lucky enough to find that formula after a bit of reloading in the Broken Valley enchanter's cellar).

Getting skill upgrades also requires reaching a certain level. The bottom row skills (such as Summon Demon, Reflect, and Death Blow) require something like Lv34-36 to acquire. So until then, you can only get it up to 13.

Gems are ingredients in enchantment formulas, just the same as herbs are for potions.

The skills should still be listed with the trainer, though, even if you don't meet the level requirements (greyed out with the line stating the level requirement in red text).

Thank you both for your explanations, time and effort you put in for answering me. It sure helps to understand when it is explained as you both have.

The biggest thing for me was my misunderstanding of the use of the Malachite Gem. I didn't realize that Gems (all gems) are simply another type of an ingredient used in enchantment formulas. For some reason, I had it figured as an item that would be placed, by itself, in the equipment to be enhanced. But now I see what you mean.

Thanks again, I appreciate it so much.
