If you're having trouble, learn a summon spell to summon a ghost, demon or zombie to help you in battle, or summon your own creature which is also upgradable, it could really save your life having your creature battle alongside you or having it charge enemies while you stay back and allow it to weaken them.
You are allowed to summon your creature and a creature from the spells, which means that you can summon two minions to help you in battle.
