Hi. I recently saw this game on Steam. I'm very inclined to buy it, but since I'm looking for game where I can put my gamepad to use, I was wondering, will the game have native gamepad support?

I don't mean one of those where we have to configure each key, because most of the times, it just doesn't feel right (like Oblivion, and many others) where we need to juggle around keys and stuff, which is fine, but something more console-ish, like DeathSpank or GTA IV.

That when we play with a gamepad, the game reflects it, changing the visual aids keys to buttons. You know: instead of showing the key [Linked Image], it would show the button [Linked Image], or whatever.

So, does the game have all of this features, some, or none? Or will they be added by a future patch?

I hope I made myself clear. Thanks.

Unfortunately there is no native support for the 360 gamepad, and if it didn't make it into FoV / DKS I don't know if I'd hold out much hope for a patch.
Several people have used gamepads in D2:ED, configuring each button manually, without too much complaint (IIRC an action could not be assigned to the right stick, which was used to control the camera on the Xbox, a feature lacking on the PC), though of course there were requests for native support (or at least a few built-in profiles).

As others mentioned, the game doesn't support any gamepads, but i've been playing the original D2 and now DKS with my wireless 360 gamepad using a program called Pinacle Game Profiler, just google it, theres a trial version and after that you have to buy it (which i did).

You can map any keyboard key and or mouse bouton fonction (plus mouse emulation) to any of the buttons or joystic on your gamepad.

I works really well and is easy to understand, you can configure profiles for each game you got, then just load the profile and it starts the game for you and you can play with you gamepad.

there is also a program called xpadder that is similiar (but never used that one)
