A valid point KNightPT
When you think about it, this game cost me 30 quid, you can go out and buy a couple of Bluerays that would cost you the same amount but at the most you'd only get one & half to two hours out of each of them where as with a decent rpg you'll hit the 100 hour mark easily.
When I think of the number of hours I've put into Oblivion, its in the thousands and then some bracket, I even bought it twice as I have 4 PC's in different rooms of the house and was tired of swapping the discs from rig to rig. I know I could have used a no cd crack but I spotted the GOTY for 12 quid in a sale.
I've never pirated a game in my life and the only copied music CD's I have are the ones I've made myself to play in the car, I believe in supporting the people that supply me with something that gives me a great deal of enjoyment, but I do have a theory. I don't think that its the saving of a few quid that attracts most pirates to what they do, but rather the fact they can sit there and think "ha, got one over on those guys" which to be honest, if true, is quite sad.
The thing that narks me is that as the legitimate purchasers of the sofware, we have to put up with that golden invention and wonderful PITA, yup you guessed it "DRM", which is about as effective as a chocolate saucepan. It doesn't stop em, Fallout NV was apparently cracked and up for download just hours after release.
The only way is to catch the ones uploading the cracks and dishing out a huge fine or jail time, theft is theft.
Here endeth the sermon of the Reverand Knight Flyer, pirates walk the plank and those of you who have dutifully handed over your dosh, stop fiddling with your halo's, they look fine.
Amen.
