Just because a game is made on a bigger budget and by a bigger team, doesn't make it automatically better. Following this "logic", games like Call of Duty would be the best of all time.

DA:O certainly wasn't more "polished" for me than Divinity 2 was, and the graphics and art direction were worse to boot. The game was trying too hard in every way, while Divinity 2 didn't take itself too seriously.

Yes DAO had a bigger budget & it still can't compaire to Divinity the graphics in DKS & DAO arn't that different considering DAO had a bigger budget.

The story of DAO left something to be disired (but thats my opinion) the gameplay of DAO was absoloot s*** (anyone can press a damb button)

All in all considering the reasources DAO had at it's disposal it is a pile of worthless C*** that should never have been released.

Divinity had a smaller budget & less people working on it & yet it still comes out with great graphics awsome humor a very well writen story & amazingley moving music.

All that with a smaller budget & less people working on it I would definatley say that DKS is supiriour in every way.

I am glad at least someone shares my opinion on DAO.
After all it`s hype I started thinking I might be sick or something disliking it.

To me it was pure boredome on a high budget, and even worse, I didn`t see the budget on screen.
I believe I know a bit about graphics since it`s my job, and DOA failed to impress me both technically and by design.

Divinity2/DKS on the other hand...it has soul in almost every department.

The storytelling keeps a great balance between being serious and funny.

The graphics remind me of Guild Wars a bit. They are technically alright, but far from super-polished stuff like let`s say Mass Effect 2. But the artdirection really makes up for the lack of sophisticated tech. It just has some sort of personality.

The music really stands out. Very unique themes, almost classics like the Tomb Raider theme. And I find it kinda couragous because sometimes it`s on the edge of not fitting to a fantasy game.

So, as for comparing recent RPGs, my fav remains Mass Effect 2, because it has both, budget and soul (although I am aware some voices say it`s not even a RPG).
Divinity 2 comes in second place for me, and after that a pretty large gap to the rest of the party.

I agree. Dragon Age is a good game, but DKS seems to have a bigger world, better graphics, and you could actually transform into a dragon and fly around, which to me was just awesome.
