As you can see from the screenshot below I am missing water textures on different parts of the river.

Did you try changing the texture quality setting? How about a lower game resolution?

Try running the game as administrator, and in the compatibility options disable desktop composition (in Vista/7).

Everything is transparent

A couple people had missing or corrupt textures fixed by doing a clean re-install of the game.
Uninstall DKS or FoV/D2:ED, reboot, shut down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus), make sure there is nothing left in the D2 folder (saves are stored elsewhere), then install DKS or D2:ED and FoV.

Can you provide a dxdiag? I can repro this on my home pc, but that's one with a below minimum spec graphics card, so I'm not surprised that my water isn't shading correctly.

FoV is the add-on (Flames of Vengeance) to the original D2:ED; the two together (and a few changes to the original game) make up DKS.

Yeah I know that... thought he ment Field Of View.

Was scratching my head hehe.

Is there a fix to this? I have the exact same thing on the steam version. I try to validate the file cache through steam and it keeps downloading one file everytime I do it.

I have excatly same thing happening to me with water, I have DVD version... everything else looks great but just water looks like that

I dont have exactly the same problem, water looks fine but I jumped once into the river near the lake teleporter and water just disappeared completely. I was walking on the bottom of the river instead of swimming on the top of it .

I do have Windows 7 64Bit too, but use ATI HD5870. Playing on extreme settings.
