Go to his room on the top floor of the Circle of Trust Inn which is the one with the bounty hunter quest near the City Gates. Can't quite remember where I got the key to the door from though, might've been from his room in the Phoenix Inn.
Key is anti-demon grip spell obtained in the prancing seahorse forbidden archives.
