I have no idea what kind of DRM the Larianvault version of the game has. Probably Securom also. So far i have nothing to complain about. If you buy the game, you get the key. The game asks the key when installing and finally activates the game online. So far the particular version has been pretty quiet, doesn't complain about Daemon tools or my DVD drives. Also can't really complain about it affecting the game performance in any way. Although my machine is quite aged (core 2 duo e8400, 4 gb RAM, Geforce 8800 gts 512), i can run the game on 1920*1080 res and have most settings on max.
