I bought DKS from larionvault (wanted to support Larian directly which prolly costed me slightly more then Steam because of Euro - $ conversion) as soon as it was out and I'm disappointed to say the least.

The so called remastering has butchered the game in a hand holding way.

1. The key to the millers basement is now "color coded" so anyone can see it. Dumbing down.
2. In the millers house I found a legendary! bow while being only lvl1. Dumbing down.
3. Graphics aren't that much better, now at least they aren't as choppy as before.
4. Location for the saved games is in the SAME folder as for D2 which makes zero sense. You had a new installer for DKS with zero dependencies to the old D2, so why not use a different path instead of showing "Incompatible save game" on the loading screen and me having to move those saves to a backup folder.

1. In fairness, the alchemist is a really important place and it's hidden, and hiding the key only works once on new players, after that it's easy to find.

2. I also found a legendary bow in the miller's house. It might have been Legendary, but it was a level 1 legendary and didn't do that much more damage than the "My First Mace" I had. It wasn't game-breaking, certainly. It brings an extra thrill to looking for loot.

4. I'll give you that one, I was hoping that there would also be seperate save files, if only so the 100 save-game limit wouldn't count the old saves.

I'll add other points as soon as I see them.

Recap - DKS is the KIDS version of D2. From what I can tell, there is hardly any new (read worthwhile) content in DKS other then FOV.

Updating the graphics a little or a lot by others and adding overpowered weapons everywhere does not make a better version of a game.

@Larian, DD and D2 are one of the best rpgs I've played and I've felt that they never got the praise they needed. I can see that you were forced to make this so called "remastering", but this is IMHO not a better game.

You're wrong. The changes have made it a much better game, the difficulty curve is smoother, rather than hitting a huge brick wall at level 6/7, there is more loot, there are more unique items and sets and they're spread out for you to find, the flying fortresses are a bit shorter and simpler, and enemies 4 levels or more below you are now fun to fight.
