I have read a guide which claimed that dual wield does most damage. Weapon+shield does second most damage. That's because of the bonus the skill grants is pretty big.
I don't know if he is right, but the rest of the guide was pretty accurate. I also have tried to use 2h weapons because i like them, but on difficult spots I switch to dual wield because I really do more damage.
The guide is from before DKS, but I'm playing DKS.
