Hello, new player here. I was on the fence about this game. Checked out these forums and noticed the dev's actually post. Love small companies that talk to their playerbase. So, I laid down my $40 bucks. I hope I made the right choice!

I downloaded this game overnight from Steam. but now I'm stuck at work.

How wiil this game run?

Vista32bit core duo 3.0, 260gtx 4 gigs ram.

Any advice or comments for a person that hasnt even launched it yet?

I want to be excited! (I kinda am already)

Any tweaks I should know about?

You did remember to download Dragon Knight Saga and not Ego Draconis I hope?

Not many tweaks you need to be aware of, since most things are being fixed by Larian as we speak.


The game should run fine for you, since I'm running essentially the same specs and haven't had any problems.

It should work, as Ego Draconis workked for me with a similar set up and The Dragon Knight Saga has better preformance.

You may want to turn on both options about time slice in the graphics menu, they do not change the appearance noticalby and improve preformance. For some options that are not directly supported (frame rate above 30 and Anti-Alising) have a look at: http://forums.impulsedriven.com/400176

Yes, I got the Dragon Knight Saga. (you've made me doubt a little, lol)

I'm glad it will run well. I figured I was above the specs.

Hows the voice acting?

Voice acting is up there with the best of them but it does maybe lack a bit of variety. Thats understandable baring in mind the small budget this game had to be made on. However I personally don't even notice it that much and the voice actors do a very good job at keeping you entertained.

I'm having more fun then I have had in along time on a game and I don't think your purchase will disappoint.

Oblivion using the same actors never bothered me. So i think I'll be good.

Okay last question, my lunch is amost over..

What type of combat is it most comparable to?

Oblivion, The Witcher, or one of the many countless others..

It is like Morrowind (I have not played Oblivion), though the game I have played that it is most like is Dungeon Lords.

The combat isn't dice roll based like morrowind. More action oriented like oblivion, but the scale of the game kinda feels like morrowind.
