Since it was a topic here I thought I do a little update on the german version I ended up with. Just in case anyone else is worried about it;)
Turns out...it is quite good. Voice actors are doing a good job, there have been far worse AAA titles around. Translations seem to be good too, at least there is still a lot of really funny dialogue alive.

However, I miss my "shiny" serenity reference a little bit, but therefore I cheer to the animator everytime I climb a ladder because he obviously loves Tomb Raider wink

So I have recently bought this game for 360 and here are my impressions so far (I'm in Lovis Tower).
This is really, REALLY good game! Graphics are far better than in Ego and I can say for sure that now this game "shines truly". Especially indoor (every dungeon is very nicely and cleverly designed). Outdoor it's a bit worse but still it's really nice. Menus are very simple and helpful. Quests are fun and enjoyable (although, the main story is mediocre, so far, I mean it lacks some epicness), and most of all you want MORE! You have that thing "just one more quest, one more skeleton, one more chest" etc. Also this game is not only an rpg, it has also puzzles, platform jumping and dragon shooting!
I am really enjoying this game. It's far better than Dragon Age (although DAO had better dialogues).
Such games should be released more often on consoles.
But, I have to say that some things should be added or should be better:

1. There should be those statistics I have posted about in other thread (how many hours I'm playing, how much quests finished, how many enemies slained).
2. It would be cool to have more complex combat system (blocking with your shield, Demon's Souls anyone?).
3. This game trully should be released on PS3 (I hope the next one will be).
4. I think there should be also some kind of sprint (RB button is unused).
5. When you see an empty barrel/chest/crate or you have just pillaged it and took everything, I think that you should no longer see/be able to click on it. This would ease exploring I think. It's kind of boring seeing many "empty barrel/chest/crate" messages.
6. Although I'm happy with size of the world in this game, I would really love to see trully open landmass in next game (Oblivion etc.).

This is all for now. Now back to that tower.

Only a few of your points I'd like to expand on...

100% agree. The combat in this game is throwing a horde of enemies at the player and it comes down to potion chugging, until you get so overpowered that you take very little damage and instead put up with constant stuns. I'd much rather have smaller enemy groups (large groups of 5 - 6 enemies being a rare occurence) with deeper combat mechanics.

Once again, I agree. If it's empty to begin with, there's no reason for it to be targettable. Once I've looted something completely, it should no longer be targettable.

This is where I have to disagree. I was really turned off by Oblivion because it was such a vast world that it seemed like every other aspect of the game suffered because of it. Combat was weak, loot was weak, leveling was nigh on broken, dialogue was bad, the story was weak, the game was plagued with bugs, and it felt devoid of soul. If it weren't for mods, I never would have completed that game, and it took a heck of a lot of modding for it to feel like a proper game to me - and I still didn't spend more than 20 hours on it.

Divinity 2 has a decent mix of linear and open-world, (mostly) great voice acting, and an absolutely outstanding soundtrack. I think they need to fine tune their current system and they'll have a masterpiece on their hands.

Its easier to develop games with 'limited' land mass travel. if you create one huge map like in Oblivion it will never be spectacular. Like OP said - indors are all spectacular graphics but outdors not so much. If there is no instancing - its so much more difficult for engine to process the game. There should be a balance where super pretty graphics meet the appropriate size of the explorable without loading screen landmass and the overal game performance. If this balance broken than one of the other 2 pieces will suffer.

I personally like the graphics in Divinity 2. And some instances in DKS probably look as good as I've ever seen in RPG before. I play game on PC with Extreme graphics and Anti Aliasing enabled - on these settings even the outdoors look spectacular. I think DKS devs were able to meet that balance where graphics meet world size and good performance.

Hello jay_1980,

May I ask you to re-send your email to support@larian.com please?
You are playing with the Xbox360 version of The Dragon Knight Saga, is this correct?
Please describe the problem as clearly as possible and reference this forum thread in your email.

Thank you and all the best,
Lynn
