get clues (most of the game) > get orbs (in academy) > place orbs on runes (in academy).
If you've gotten all the orbs then you must already be in the academy, in which case you probably have seen the runes. If this is so then examine your clues for.. clues on where to put each orb, except clue 2 which you don't have, so either just put it on every rune until it works or..
