Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Captain Rodney

Hi all, a quest question for you about Captain Rodney and Hjalmar's mask - I defeated Hjalmar and got the mask, without talking to Rodney, and then found out from the site that it was a quest item. So I went looking for Rodney and he wasn't in his usual place in the barracks and I can't find him anywhere. Did I muck this up by getting the item first? Or is he supposed to be somewhere else now?

You may need to finish the quest with Peavey and Quincy. Then Rodney should sit at his desk for the remainder of his time.

Hmm.. I thought I finished that quest as Peavy is now in jail lamenting his hidden stash ( I mind read him). I also finished the Carl is a murderer quest and turned him in. Anything else I might be missing? Or is it simply an annoying bug in the game?

Oh, never mind! Talking about the Carl is a murderer thing prompted me to go back to the farm and found him there arresting Carl. (took his time about it, heh heh.)

The strange thing is I don't remember him offering me this request at all in the first place (didn't show up in my list either) although when I gave him the mask he mentioned more rewards for the other monsters, as if he'd already offered the quest to me. Good thing I have a list of these from the guide! I'm guessing this must be just a bug.

He doesn't offer you the quest. There's notice board in the barracks with a wanted list of the villains - that's what puts the quest in your logbook. Apparently Rodney will respond when you bring him the trophies regardless of whether you've actually read the list.

Duhh! I remember hearing something about that bulletin board and forgot all about it!
