You probably never tried a console. I was a PC gamer for 15 years, but now after I bought my first Xbox 360 2 years ago I simply can't do it on PC anymore.
Reasons:
I am not that rich to buy or to upgrade my comp in order to keep up with modern games. My comp is 3 years old, but it is still perfect for work and internet. But to play a game on PC even on min requirements is not a pleasure, but a torture. I used to play games (Gothic 3 for example) with lags on low settings and convinced myself it was OK. Well, it is not. Consoles have a stable performance, and I can play practically any modern game I want. Now all of them are on consoles also, and I do not need to worry about the performance. But there is no way in hell my comp will be able to handle Arcania or even TW2.
With consoles no need to install anything, and all updates are authomatic. No hardware conflicts. I was sick to death to update drivers and such.
Also, controllers are much more intuitive and easy to handle. I can just relax in the armchair and play.
Consoles have pretty great exclusives (Demon's Souls, Uncharted 1-2, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake) and some games appear on consoles sooner then on PC (Assassin's Creed series).
No worry about DRM, or other crap.
About better graphics: when I play on PC I am very close to the screen, and I see pixels you know. Up close any screen for me is grainy. But with Xbox or ps3 I am pretty far away, and so an image looks better for me. So now I won't switch to PC even if I win a lottery and can buy the best PC imaginable.
