Hi folks,

first and foremost, love the game. i had the original (div ii) and had been meaning to buy the new version (with the original and new adventure); finally did the other day and having a ball. i had a question and i couldn't find the question in a search, soooo....

if i were to, say, plant some books to relieve my burden in a chest, would they remain for an extended amount of time (indefinitely?)? that is all. carry on. crazy

Couldn't tell you, never tried. On my first 2 runs, I read them and sold them. On the following runs, didn't even bother to read them... just sold them. The moral to the story is, none of those books that get put in your "MISC" bag are critical to the gameplay. All the essential books are placed in your "QUEST" bag.

p.s. The items in your "QUEST" bag DO NOT count towards your item limit.

I'd like to close by quoting Bellegar's famous last rhyme:

"Cursed be the mother that bred thee!
The wench must have been a hell-spawned banshee!"

I don't actually think you can plant anything in chests, only thake them out - the PC version doesn't give the option to add items to chests anyway.

Of course, your storage chest in your battle tower is the obvious exception.

Question on that... there's 3 specific books? And the rest are selling material after you read it?

Which 3 books? Are you referring to Tim's 3 journals?
If so, you can sell those once you get your...
...skill book from the fireplace.
