i haven't been able to figure it out and i don't want to waste my resourses, but do the enchantments stack up... for example, i have a ring that slow regenerates health at .05 per sec and i have a pendant that has it at .125 per sec...
i can't seem to find on my charactor how to tell or where its diplayed so i don't know if the abilitys stack up...
do i have a total regenerate at .175 or does it just use the highest value, in this case .125
and how do you know?

Yes, the definitely stack, but you can't put more than one enchantment of a single type on a single item (so if you want multiple health regens, you need to enchant on different items).

BTW - health regen enchantments require malachite gems (extremely rare) regardless of their level, so it's really only worth doing them once you have the level 10 enchantment. Items with even low-level health enchantments already on them are therefore more valuable than other enchantments, especially in the earlier stages of the game. (Level 10 health regen is 0.3%, copared to 0.225 for level 9).

Also, disenchanting items at your battle tower means you automatically learn the enchantments. So be on the lookout for any item that regenerates health at 0.3% - that's how I learned the level 10 enchantment.

Finally, the +100 health (level 10 life line) enchantment to armour is a better way of spending malachite gems than health regen. I have all four of my Dragon Wizard armour pieces with +100 health, which increases my total health by 50% (at level 45). Not only to I get more total health, I get +50% health regen (as health regen is always a percentage of total health, so +health = +health regen).

The other best level 10 malachite enchantment is +damage. I have +100 magic damage on both my (dual wield) weapons - I never fight melee, but +200 damage to all my spells (including each magic missile) is very useful.

EDIT: And how do I know? The damage enchantments are easy, just a matter of maths when you attack a relatively low level monster. As for health, I now regenerate so fast it's like a permanent healing spell, and the difference is noticable when I remove certain items.

thank you

does this mean that if i have 5 different items with a 22% chance of retaliation with i think 35 damage each, i would then have a 110% chance for retaliation and 175 in retaliation damage?

i'm only level 16 so i only get level 7 stuff now, haven't finished the tower yet, i'm about to fight him for it....

I don't think any of the retaliation enchants actually 'stack' as such. So in your example, the multiple enchants might result in multiple retaliations - up to 5 if you're lucky, but each one would only do 35 damage.

Although, come to think of it, I have "static charge" on most of my spare enchantment slots, and I've never seen more than one 'bolt' fly out when I'm hit. But I've never paid that much attention - these enchants always do negligible damage compared to what I can do with my own spells. Maybe someone else can confirm for sure.

Good luck getting your tower smile

When I encountered Bellegar down at the Vault, I had 0.3 regens on all my jewelry, coupled with L-10 Retribution and Static, and I simply stood there and watched his life go down in a matter of minutes. They do lot more than "negligible" damage. Of course I had lots of points in Retaliation and this was in easy mode (I was recording his rhymes).

I'd like to close by quoting Bellegar's famous last rhyme:

"Cursed be the mother that bred thee!
The wench must have been a hell-spawned banshee!"

Well I never tried level 10, just level 9 retribution and static charge, but no points in retaliation, so my static charges only do about 50 damage. And in comparison, my fireballs do 5K damage and my magic missiles do 7*500 damage. I guess it's all relative - my build is totally focused on damage at the expense of everything else.

So is mine. I return 120% of all damage I receive back to them.
