I don't think that Focus has to do sumtin with it. 90% of the profit Larian gets from TV shows and games for kids and otehr multimedia stuff, the RPG games is some kind of hobby for the team. They saved some money, they decided to make Divine Divinity/Divinity series. Such devteams can dictate the conditions to the publishers.
So, I think, the secuROM was purely their decision.
