With my Ranger, I do the Vigor Mort quest just for the exp and never youch my creature again. I don't upgrade him or summon. I just sell all the parts I find. He's always in between me and my foe and blocking my shots. Yes, I tried both melee and ranged. His AI needs a lot of work. I kill so much faster w/o him. It was funny and I used him back in ED when he'd urinate every 10 seconds.
