I wonder if there's a simple way to disable the particle effects used to hint you there's something to quote, for example for pinpoint you keys to found or traps and doors to open.

I feel it as a bad approach when you are discovering the game (when you replay it doesn't matter much) and wonder if I could disable this in DKS, if not I think I'll continue play D2 instead, that I started play only recently.

A little ping.

I hadn't notice there was no mod possible for this game, so rare now for RPG, this probably make such patch impossible but I wish a confirmation.

In fact I get back to the original Divinity 2 Ego Draconis because it has less abuse of this particle effect trick, but still use it in weird case, like for obvious traps any player will wish anyway notice and open.

But DKS seems quite worth in abusing of this trick and for example for the so well designed key management that really don't need such poor trick.

I'm surprise everybody is happy with that when for once a game had a great design in such area without to have to require to this. Perhaps now it's over and players need be guided by hand or at least need be able fly through a game without putting much care and avoid notice any detail. Well at least I don't get this hand guiding crap for the quests. You should add the famous Oblivion "follow blindly the cursor" to match this awful particle effect.

Personally I quite like the particle effect: although too much handholding is a bad thing, so is being too obtuse. In some cases I think it can be hard to strike the right balance, but having spent an age searching for things like keys when the particle effect wasn't available (and having to resort to online guides a couple of times), it's a welcome addition from my perspective. Though I do understand that not everybody feels the same way.

Well the search hours is a good argument, but then make it a game option so a player could try activate it if he get stuck and suspects there's something to find. My problem is that it is used in places where it just spoil my fun. For one key there's 3 hints the player could find and the particle effect destroy all the high care put into designing this little trick.

Another example, a traps behind a closed door, not about the key to open the door but the trap really didn't need the particle effect. In original game from the parts I played in all cases the particle effect was pointless because the game had a great design.

For sure all other AAA RPG not too old have a very poor design about it and they need such particle effect to avoid be unplayable because of the poor tricks and exploration design. But D2 or DKS don't need that.

Anyway my question remain is it possible to hack the game to avoid this particle effect?
