Derelict Tunnels have nothing to do with where you are now.
Stay away from the Temple entrance and search all over for 3 small golden chests. When you find all 3, feed each of the 3 statues with what you found and see what happens.
Once you've done that, go back to the Derelict Tunnels and go to the middle area where you see several small rooms clustered together. There, stand infront of the bright gold statue, Q-save your game and R-click the Amulet of the West from your inventory.

I'd like to close by quoting Bellegar's famous last rhyme:
