Thanks for the response Shaver, and on my other posts as well. I've been saving in ED when approaching Malachite Ore Veins and re-loading until I get at least 2, and it sounds as if the same general strategy continues in FoV.

Since there is no real game guide out for FoV yet, I suppose I'll just save before each quest turn-in. If I understand you correctly, there will be one skill book available in the quest reward screen, which indicates that if you re-load you should be able to find a Malachite Gem as a reward, but if more skill books are offered, you can re-load until you get a reward of 5 gems? Sweet.
